Spelling- Lesson #17 -Due Thursday, April, 9
Hurdle Words

Lesson Information:
Some words are especially difficult to spell because they contain sounds that can be spelled by different letters. For example, the soft c sound in fallacy sounds very similar to the s sound in defenseless.

In other "hurdle words" letters may stand for unusual sounds. For example, in especially the c stands for /sh/.
Memorize the spellings of the List Words so that you aren't fooled by their subtle "tricks."
