Welcome to Grade 7 Social Studies!

The Manitoba curriculum focuses on two aspects of geography; one on the physical geography of the earth and the other human geography. We will learn and discuss how humans influence the change of the physical geography of the earth.

We will start the year learning how to map the globe including plotting longitude and latitude, time zones, and learning different map projections.

We will then move onto the global national environment locating the continents, major landforms, bodies of water, and finish with locating and describing the major climatic and vegetation zones around the world.

From there, we move onto the aspect of human geography or how humans interact and help shape the world through the study of migration, human rights, democracy, and anthropology.
